WP 1 objectives

Main Objective:

The major objective of WP 1 is to identify the operation scenarios of hydropower plants in the Himalayan region and describe the specifications of reference hydropower plants for scientific investigations. 

Secondary Objective:

  1. Definition of an operation scenario where power output, sediment concentration, and mineral content are defined for the reference power plants.
  2. Establish minimum two hydropower plants as specific reference cases to describe the future operating conditions hydropower plants can experience.
  3. Develop a guide describing the requirements hydropower plants have to meet in the future, specific design considerations and technical implications for power plant developers.
