What is Helgasetr?

What is Helgasetr?

Close to the rest of the campus and the city's health services, NTNU's health and social sciences and the Student Association's (Sit) sports and catering services will be gathered under one roof.

Helgasetr

Helgasetr will bring together NTNU's academic environment within research, sports and teaching. Statsbygg and Studentsamskipnaden (Sit) are the owners of the building and NTNU is the tenant.

Statsbygg is the contracting client for the project. The turnkey contractor is Backe Trondheim, which has the main responsibility for design and execution.

Because Statsbygg and Sit own the building, NTNU is the user representative in the process towards the final building. NTNU further sets requirements for the implementation of the project on the basis that the project costs are financed by NTNU through a rent scheme.

In the preliminary project, all functions in the building were located. In the detailed design, the preliminary project will be continued and NTNU will participate in the quality assurance that the building meets government-imposed and functional requirements.

Sports centre

Sit will establish a sports section and a cafeteria. The sports areas will be an attractive state-of-the-art facility, inviting and including.

The activities offered will reflect sport trends and the science of training and sports. Located near social zones, the sport areas will also provide a meeting place for students and staff. Similarly, the cafeteria will provide a social meeting place for students and staff, including those who train at the fitness centre.

Who will use the building?

The building will also be available to all NTNU students and staff. Social zones and open workspaces will create potential for attractive meeting places and workplaces for students, both within and across subject areas, as well as for meetings between students and academic staff.

Statsbygg will build Helgasetr. Backe is entrepreneur with contract on total enterprise.
