Theme user group for learning areas
Through 2021, the theme user group for learning areas has worked on describing the learning functions that must be addressed in NTNUs unified campus. They have described general guidelines and objectives for, priorities in and location of learning areas in NTNU, which provide guidelines for programming learning areas in NTNUs unified campus, and guidelines for the development of learning areas in other construction and rehabilitation projects at NTNU.

The work of the theme user group for learning areas
The thematic user groups are based on NTNU's area concept and have specified and clarified the concepts further, resulting in guidelines for the construction project for NTNU´s unified campus and other construction and rehabilitation projects at NTNU.
The theme user group for learning areas has worked closely with the theme user group for hubs.
The theme user group’s work is summarized in a report, with attached working documents, submitted 1 July 2021 (in Norwegian):

Adopted principles for area development at NTNU
On the basis of the thematic user group’s work, the rector has adopted principles for area development at NTNU:

Principles for area development at NTNU
The work of the thematic user groups has been within NTNU's guidelines in the premise documents; Area concepts for NTNU, Principle plan, Location of academic functions, Quality requirements for buildings and outdoors and OFP report for the project NTNU’s unified campus.
The final wording of the principles, as stated in the Rector's decision, has been adjusted on the basis of feedback from the processing of draft decisions in the rectorate, dean meeting, AMU and SESAM.
