Reinhard Madlener

Dr. Reinhard Madlener is Full Professor of Energy Economics and Management at the School of Business and Economics, RWTH Aachen University, Germany, and Adjunct Professor at the Department of Industrial Economics and Technology Management, Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU). Since 2007, he is Co-Director at RWTH Aachen’s interdisciplinary E.ON Energy Research Center and the founding and current Head of E.ON ERC’s Institute for Future Energy Consumer Needs and Behavior (FCN). Professor Madlener regularly lectures in Energy Economics, Environmental Economics, Economics of Technical Change, Economics of Technological Diffusion, Smart Grid Economics and Management, and Climate Risk Mitigation and Management. His main research interests are in energy economics and policy, sustainable energy transition, preference elicitation, behavioral economics, energy market and system modeling, and technological innovation and diffusion. He is the Editor-in-Chief of the FCN Working Paper Series listed on SSRN and RePEc, was a Senior Editor of Energy Policy for seven years, presently serves as Associate Editor of Decision Analytics and on a number of Editorial Boards of international scientific journals, and has published extensively over the last three decades.
