Experts in Teams - Mission Zero Emission
Mission NET Zero
Experts in Teamwork (EiT)
Experts in Teamwork (EiT) and NTNU Energy Transition are collaborating in a new pilot project. Selected energy-related EiT villages are part of our Mission NET Zero. As a student in on of these villages, you will have the opportunity to work in multi-disciplinary teams on one of the most important challenges of our time - a more sustainable, societal, climate friendly and just energy transition.
Students in these Mission Net Zero villages are invited to:
- Participate in a kick- off event on January 15, 2025, along with other motivated students
- Work on real challenges of energy transition with relevance to industry and government
- Exhibit your EiT project at the Energy Transition Conference 2025 (April 2, 2025), where you can
- Interact with academics, policy makers and industry from Norway and abroad
- Present your EiT project and win an award
- Take part of an innovation idea competition run by EiT, with possibility to
- Receive training on developing the innovation idea
- Get training on pitching the innovation idea
- Win an award
But why?
It’s about approaching complex issues from different angles and with a range of competencies to find good solutions. We don’t just need scientists and technologists, but also social scientists, philosophers, and economists. For different energy forms to function together, or for renewable energy production to be established, many factors need to be considered. A solution in one area can, for example, have negative consequences in another.
Glad you asked! Read more about the ideology behind the pilot project in this op-ed.

The Energy Transition
The global shift from reliance on fossil fuels like coal, oil, and natural gas to cleaner, renewable energy sources such as wind, solar, and hydropower is a holistic challenge. The transition is a multidisciplinary endeavour required to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, combat climate change, and create a more sustainable and low-carbon energy system. It involves changes in technology, policy, and infrastructure to support renewable energy adoption and efficiency.
Exibition at NTNU Energy Transition Conference 2025
Present your project in an exhibition at the NTNU Energy Transition Conference on April 2, 2025, for a chance to win an award for the best project, to be presented by the Minister of Energy, Terje Aasland.
Develop your innovation idea
Develop your EiT project into an innovation idea, and receive guidance and training from SFU Engage on how to effectively pitch it. You will have the opportunity to present your innovation idea at the EiT Innovation Awards (dates to be announced) and compete for an award.
