Laurent Leveugle entered the nuclear industry in 2011 following the completion of his Master's degree in Electrical Engineering. Currently, he serves as the head of Fortum's New Nuclear business, overseeing the Fortum New Nuclear Feasibility Study, Nuclear Research and Development, and Nuclear Generation strategy.

Before taking on this pivotal role, Laurent held various positions within the industry, concentrating on Instrumentation and Control (I&C) projects from both the supplier and customer sides. These roles equipped him with extensive expertise in technical design, project management, and on-site operations. Noteworthy milestones in his career include his roles in the Loviisa Nuclear Power Plant automation renewal project (2014-2018), where he successively served as Technical Project Manager and Site Manager. Additionally, he led the Loviisa Nuclear Power Plant ESFAS renewal project (2019-2022) as Project Manager.

Since May 2022, Laurent has assumed responsibility for Fortum's New Nuclear initiatives.
