Session 2-B: Towards a decarbonized transport sector
hosted by FMEs MoZEES, Bio4Fuels, and NTRANS
How can we decarbonize the transport sector the next decade and reach net zero emission in the long-term? According to IEA the CO2-emissions from the transport sector must fall by more than 3% per year to 2030 if we want to get on track with the Net Zero Emissions by 2050 Scenario. The transport sector includes cars and vans, trucks and buses, rail, aviation, and international shipping. In this session we will discuss how MoZEES, Bio4Fuel and NTRANS are all working towards decarbonization and zero emission transport and how we can fast-track the process, specifically in heavy duty transport applications.
Program:
13:00 Introduction by Moderator – Ingo Machenbach, Statkraft
13:05 Presentations
- NTRANS: Transition Scenarios for the Transport Sector – Kari Espegren, IFE
- Bio4Fuels: Sustainable Biofuels in a Norwegian context – Judit Sandquist, SINTEF
