3-B Digital transformation and flexibility
3-B: Digital transformation and flexibility
Electricity distribution grids can unlock flexibility, making it possible to integrate other energy carriers and storage. To rapidly electrify society and enable efficient sector couplings, we need to expand grid hosting capacity. Building new lines and optimizing existing networks reduce costs and environmental impact. Digitalization, automation, and leveraging flexibility are essential to boost grid utilization, balance supply and demand, and harness energy resources effectively.
In this workshop, industry experts, policymakers, and researchers will discuss these critical developments, offering insights on how to strengthen infrastructure while minimizing disruption and environmental footprints.
