Histology lab (CMIC Histologi)

Histology lab (CMIC Histologi)

The laboratory is a part of the Cellular & Molecular Imaging Core Facility (CMIC) and the Department of Clinical and Molecular Medicine (IKOM). We work in close collaboration with St. Olavs Hospital.

The laboratory is located in the Laboratory Center, 4th floor (4. etg), East.

Services

We offer a wide range of services in the field of histology; from tissue sample to digital image.

Our services include:  tissue processing (from formalin to paraffin), embedding, sectioning (cryo sectioning and paraffin sectioning), routine staining (HES and HE), special stainings (masson trichrome, alcian blue, elastin, PAS, safranin O, luxol fast blue and others), immunohistochemistry (IHC) with chromogenic stains or fluorescence, digital scanning of slides (bright field, fluorescence, phase contrast or polarized light).

Please contact us as soon as possible in the process of planning your research project. We can help you in the planning from the fixation or freezing of the tissue and every step until you have a digital image.

Long-term projects that involve many hours of technical assistance should be discussed in a project meeting with CMIC before the request is sent. In this way CMIC can make sure that the project planning fits with other ongoing activities at the Histology lab.

Contact

To consult about your experiments and to develop the best plan for using our facilities, please contact the personell at the histology lab:
