Social work includes a professional field in the public and private sectors as well as an academic discipline in teaching and research with large national and international networks.

The specialization emphasizes a foundation in ongoing theoretical, practical and political discourses. This is combined with great individual freedom, so that the programme can support the individual candidate’s PhD project.

At the same time, we try to anchor the work in relevant research areas in the subject area, such as welfare and migration research, disability and society, child welfare research and innovation, development of didactics, teaching and practice, development of knowledge and practice development in social work (KUPSA).
