Through an Erasmus+/Nordplus exchange agreement with NTNU, students may apply for exchange to UNIS in Svalbard.

UNIS is not an accredited institution, and thus cannot sign its own Erasmus+ / Nordplus agreements.

However, students can exchange to UNIS via Erasmus+ / Nordplus agreements with NTNU. Students therefore need to submit two separate applications, one to UNIS and one to NTNU.

We advise that you start both applications simultaneously, as you need to be accepted as a student in both institutions individually. The processes are managed separately by the two institutions, and you must send the required documentation to the both.

Apply directly to UNIS within the application deadlines.

For the most up-to-date information, please visit their website (external link)

Please also read UNIS admission regulations.

Students from NTNU partner universities can apply for exchange to UNIS, and must be nominated by their home instutution. Students apply by the same deadlines as exchange students to NTNU.

Make a note in the application that you are applying for exchange to UNIS.

Nominated students will summarily receive information on how to apply.

Students from universities without an exchange agreement with NTNU should contact UiT The Arctic University for exchange applications to UNIS.
