About the course
Course content
HMSID is an HSE course for Architecture and Design, Department of Design (AD-ID). The course will give students an overview of what HSE is and create a safe, secure and inclusive workplace and place of study. The course provides you as a student with information about risky work, first aid, fire, deviations and more.
HMSID consists of one physical and one theoretical HSE course. The physical consists of an introduction to the workshop, routines, and work areas. The theoretical part is a digital course with an exam in inspera.
The course also aims to make you as a student better acquainted with the possibilities and digital aids available at NTNU.
Learning outcome
Students will have basic knowledge in health, environment and safety with emphasis on good practices for practical work in workshops and laboratories.
Students may have good knowledge of security in the areas represented by the specialization modules.
Learning methods and activities
HMSID consists of:
Self-study
Theoretical HSE course with information in Blackboard and exam in inspera
Practical HSE course with compulsory physical attendance
Compulsory assignments
- Physical module
Further on evaluation
HSE basic training is a compulsory work requirement and must be completed before module training can begin.
Physical meeting is mandatory.
The laboratory department keeps track of the students who have completed sufficient HSE training on the various equipment.
The student receives a grade of pass or fail, based on a multiple choice home exam.
If the course is not passed, the student must follow the next regular completion of the course, the following semester.
