Bachelor's degree programme, 3 years - Gjøvik

Web Development

Do you enjoy programming, meeting users and designing solutions for them?

Web development lies at the intersection of coding, design and user experience. Through this course, you will master the art of creating user-centred web-based solutions.

You do not need to have prior knowledge of IT or design. The study can only be taken full-time on campus.

NB! This programme is taught in Norwegian. You have to meet the Norwegian language requirements, or have a Scandinavian language as your mother tongue, if you want to apply to any of NTNU’s degree programmes taught in Norwegian. There will be no admission to this programme in 2025.

About the programme

When you have completed this bachelor's degree in web development, you will be an expert in

  • developing and prototyping advanced and robust web solutions
  • work creatively and systematically to develop innovative concepts for the web
  • work with user-centred methods

The study consists of 180 credits and can only be taken full-time on campus. 

  • In the first year, you gain a broad understanding of various technologies and methods. 
  • The second year you go deeper into the technology, methods, accessibility, user-friendliness and ethics. 
  • In the third year, you immerse yourself in a self-selected topic and write a bachelor's thesis.

This programme has 31 study places. You must apply via Samordna opptak  by 15 April.

The admission requirement is a general university and college admissions certification, but you may also be admitted on the basis of an assessment of your real competence.

NB! This programme is taught in Norwegian. You have to meet the Norwegian language requirements, or have a Scandinavian language as your mother tongue, if you want to apply to any of NTNU’s degree programmes taught in Norwegian.
