Health services for apprentices and apprentice candidates text

At NTNU, we offer psychological services for employees. Employees, including apprentices and apprentice candidates, can be covered for individual treatment or guidance for up to 10 hours and two hours of administration for minor mental health problems and/or reactions as well as stress-related problems. The offer assumes that the ailments are work-related and that the manager decides that the unit has the opportunity to cover the costs.

NTNU's occupational health service (BHT) assists employees, managers, working environment committees and safety representatives in working environment matters, in order to create healthy and safe working conditions. All employees at NTNU can contact the occupational health service, and staff are bound by confidentiality.

The training office and the various learning centers at NTNU assist in conversation with the GP if the apprentice/apprenticeship candidate wishes this. Pedagogical psychological service - PPT, is a statutory service and the county councils have their own service for upper secondary schools, apprentices and teacher candidates. Apprentices and teacher candidates have the same access to educational-psychological services as students in upper secondary schools.

PPT offers conversations, help and guidance in matters of importance to the training. The form of work is usually counseling and support calls. PPT carries out investigations and are experts in training matters. PPT refers and collaborates with other agencies as necessary.
