Description of Helios WP3&WP4: 3D modelling & Solar digitalization

3D building models in levels of detail (LoD) 2 and 3 support various solar energy applications.

As the collaborator of Helios for Enhancing optimal exploitation of solar energy in Nordic cities through the digitalization of the built environment, Nordig AI Lab pays attention to the 3D building modelling parts in WP3&4 of Helios.

 

WP3: Pilot neighbourhoods

Creation of detailed 3D model of the pilot neighbourhoods with high LoD for both roofs and facades structure based on combination of LIDAR survey. Deploying solar radiation model for analyses at building, neighbourhood, and cityscape (STO2).

 

WP4: 3D modelling & Solar digitalization

Digitalization and visualisation of solar irradiation data via an open access web-based GIS interface (STO3). Advanced computer graphics algorithms will allow visualising outcomes using 3D-visualization techniques of cityscape model.
