Tour at the NTNU Shore Control Lab and Gunnerus

Join us on the evening before the conference for an informal tour with refreshments.

NTNU Shore Control Lab

In conjunction with the ICMASS conference, NTNU Shore Control Lab wants to invite conference participants to an informal tour, a demonstration of the research infrastructure and control room, and short presentations of ongoing research.

Some of the research you will get to know better is:

  • Remote supervision and control of autonomous passenger ferries
  • Design of remote operation centres
  • Land-based radar stations

There will be served light refreshments and snacks.

Time: 16:30–17:30 (local time)

Meeting point: Shore Control Lab, NTNU Nyhavna, Skippergata 14, entrance B, 2nd floor

Visit the NTNU's research vessel, R/V Gunnerus

Gunnerus is equipped with the latest technology for a variety of research activities within biology, chemistry, technology, geology, archaeology, oceanography and fisheries research. In addition to research, the ship is mainly used for educational purposes and is an important platform for marine courses at all levels and disciplines.

Some of the technologies installed onboard are:

  • Dynamic positioning system and a HiPap 502 unit
  • Navigation, communications and electronic equipment
  • Technology used for research
