Trondheim was founded 997 by king Olav Tryggvason and was the Viking capital of Norway. The city has been a centre for technological development and education for 250 years.

The conference hotel
ECCTD2015 will be localized at Scandic Nidelven Hotel in the city centre. The hotel has been awarded "Twinings best hotel-breakfast Norway" the last 8 consecutive years (2014).
If you want to stay at the conference hotel you may book your room when you register for the conference.
How to get there
Trondheim Airport Værnes is situated 32 km from the city and has direct fligths to/from 16 European cities and more than 40 daily flights to/from Oslo, our capital.
The Euoropean direct connections include Amsterdam, Berlin Schönefeld, Copenhagen, London Gatwick, Nice, Reykjavik, Stockholm and Tallinn.
The usual way to go to the city centre from the airport is by one of the direct bus-lines. Flybussen serves the conference hotel and cost NOK 130/220. Værnesekspressen serves Royal Garden Hotel (100 m, one block) and cost NOK 140/240. The prices are one-way/return.You may pay by credit card on board the bus (Visa, Master Card, Diners).
Do not go by taxi from the airport to Trondheim, unless you have prebooked or are at least 3 to share the cost.
Geography
Trondheim is located at 63°25'47''N and 10°23'36''E, making this the northernmost ECCTD ever. This will guarantee light evenings.
