Theoretical framework
The project will use concepts of proximity, mobility and possession. Based on the research of one of the project team, we have extracted these as three essential dimensions of any given space. This in turn enables us to compare digital, national and international activities along these dimensions, and adjust some of the conditions within any space to recreate the benefits of moving across spaces.
The pandemic and climate change are challenges which require a comprehensive and coordinated international response, and yet we see increasing evidence of a focus on narrow national interests rather than international collaboration. Erasmus + actions such as DIVE are a small but significant contribution to the innovative, large scale solutions necessary to address global challenges. Practical actions are driven by practical, realist thinking, which is the underlying philosophy of VET. DIVE will combine realism with a wider range of thinking from the social sciences and humanities.
