Twice a year we organise the NAIL Partner forum, where all our partners get to meet, network and discuss common challenges. These events are held to ensure a strong bond between academia, business and the public sector.

Health and AI – NAIL Partner forum
For our second annual Partner Forum in 2024, we invited our partners and associated research team to discuss the challenges and opportunities for AI within the health sector. The event was held at NTNU's Innovation Hub Gruva (The Mine) on the Gløshaugen campus, with over 30 partner representatives and AI experts in attendance.
We heard fascinating presentations from NTNU's Professors Kerstin Bach, Frank Lindseth, and Torbjørn Svendsen, as well as Postdoc Antonios Danelakis, all of whom work on AI and health projects. We also had the honour of hearing from Gavin Taylor, currently on sabbatical at NAIL from the US Naval Academy, and Heine Skipenes from the NTNU IT Department.
Our engaged partner network contributed talks on their use of AI, including Ketil Thorvik from HEMIT and Endre Grøvik from Helse Møre og Romsdal's AIMI group. To round off the day, our newest partners introduced themselves before we all headed for a lunch filled with networking and cross-partner mingling.
Finance and Industry – NAIL Partner forum and Annual meeting 2024
In the first week of April we held our Annual meeting and Partner forum, this time in Oslo and kindly hosted by our partner DNB in their headquarters. Topics discussed was AI and finance, Industrial AI and the potential for cross partner collaborations going forward. Thank you so much to all participants, both on, off and behind the stage. We look forward to many more fruitful discussions and collaborations in the future!
Applied AI – Partner forum 2023
On November 23rd we gathered our partner network at campus Gløshaugen in Trondheim to mingle, network and exchange experiences from their hands on AI work. This time we had presentations from some of our more industrial partners – NR and Aneo – as well as one of our finance-partners DNB.
Partner forum – Strategy
On February 23rd, we gathered here in Trondheim with our partner network to discuss strategic questions and the future of NAIL. From NTNU we heard an introduction to the history of AI from Professor Keith Downing. Then we had engaging presentations from our partners in Statens Vegvesen (Norwegian Public Roads Administration), Telenor, and DNB, as well as fruitful workshopping sessions across business and academia boundaries. We look forward to taking on the valuable suggestions from our partners and continue the good interdisciplinary work we do in NAIL.
