Quality requirements for buildings and outdoors

Quality requirements for buildings and outdoors

NTNU's quality requirements for buildings and outdoors support the overall quality principles and will guide the development of our constructions on all NTNUs campuses, both new and existing.

The quality requirements aims to establish common principles and requirements for NTNU's future university buildings. The quality requirements is general, concrete and describe the general university building of the future. They shall apply to both small and largers projects of development, maintenance and upgrading of NTNU's campuses in Gjøvik, Ålesund and Trondheim.

Special requirements

The quality requirements describe which special requirements NTNU has beyond standard, for example related to architecture, building structure, technique, acoustics, outdoor, logistics, energy and environmental requirements. There is a need to compile, quality assure and further develop existing requirements for the univerity's needs over time.

Unified campus is the driving force

The project of unifying NTNUs campus in Trondheim is the driving force for establishing the quality requirements. For the unifying of campus in Trondheim, the quality requirements will be the premise document for start-up of regulation, programming and comprehensive design of new buildings. The quality requirements will thus be NTNU's principles and perspective on the development of the campus regardless of the form of implementation.

Professional rescources from NTNU and external advisory actors

NTNU Campus Development has led the development of NTNU's quality requirements for buildings and outdoors in collaboration with NTNU Property Division, NTNU Campus Service and relevant academic environments at NTNU. The work is carried out in working groups with a broad composition of participants from NTNU and from external advisory actors as Lusparken Arkitekter, Gottlieb Paludan Architects, COWI, Asplan Viak and Multiconsult.
