NTNU in Aalesund is located beautifully between magnificient fjords, mountains, and the ocean. Aalesund is a small and friendly city with a population of approximately 45,000, that includes 3000 students. The city is famous for its art noveau architecture; National Geographic described Aalesund as the most beautiful port town in Norway and one of the most beautiful port cities in Europe.
Aalesund offers the perfect combination of city life and outdoor life. The campus is close to everything, so that you can stroll along open coastal landscape, surf the waves or climb the spectacular mountain peaks of the majestic Sunnmøre Alps. It's a perfect location for hiking, surfing, kayaking, scuba diving, skiing, fishing, climbing, cycling, rafting, paragliding and much, much more. Summer like winter, the nature experiences are just outside your door.

Student life in Aalesund
The student community is welcoming and friendly. The size of our campus means that our students develop close contacts with each other and faculty. Ålesund Studentsamfunn works for student interests and well-being, and Sundebygget is a popular place for students to socialize at many of the events that take place there. The International Students Union (ISU) is committed to the social, academic and political interest of all international students in Norway, and you can become part of a range of student organisations.
NTNU in Aalesund has close links with local companies when it comes to development, research and possibilities for student projects. You will have the chance to meet guest lecturers from industry, to attend company presentations at various events on campus and to do an internship in the region. Being a master student in Aalesund
As a student on this MSc program, you will be part of an international student environment at the Department of International Business, with around 30 students enrolled on this program each year. Teaching usually takes place in smaller classrooms to allow for engaging discussions with classmates, professors and industry partners. This creates a good atmosphere where you get to know your fellow students and teachers as well.
Teaching on the program uses a variety of approaches such as lectures, case assignments, project work, group discussions and organized excursions. Close collaboration with industry is at the core of all study programmes at NTNU in Aalesund, and the programme provides many opportunities for working closely with regional organizations.
MSc students at the Department of International Business have their own study hall which you can use when there are no timetabled activities. The campus also has several study halls in the main building on campus, as well as student work areas and a variety of group rooms.
