Design of Services, Technology and Interaction – Master's Programme

Study environment

Social learning environment

For full-time students, arrangements are made to provide a physical learning environment with access to workspaces, rooms, and equipment at NTNU in Gjøvik.

Students are introduced to each other and meet in person at the start of the program and then regularly throughout their studies.

Part-time students have digital teaching and collaboration between sessions, but also have access to workspaces in Gjøvik and Trondheim if they wish.

The learning environment in the master’s program is social, combining physical and digital teaching organized into gatherings in Gjøvik.

Design workshops

Physical design workshops are available to students in Gjøvik and Trondheim. These spaces offer room, staff, and tools for exploring design methods, prototyping, a variety of social and interdisciplinary work formats, co-design, skills in digital and physical production, exhibitions, presentations, and testing.

See the overview of rooms and equipment available at the campuses in Gjøvik and Trondheim (in Norwegian).

Research groups

Students are also offered a unique opportunity to participate in research groups.

This is especially prominent in the course "Design for/in/with technological change," where much of the activity is linked to the AI lab in Gjøvik, and in the course "Project specialization in research groups," where gatherings and digital meetings take place within the research groups of the program’s key focus areas.
