Course content

TEGN1104 is based on TEGN1101. Where TEGN1101 mainly focused on conditions in Norway, we will now look at deaf people as transnational citizens of the world and how their global community can be seen in the existance of international organizations and cultural expressions. TEGN1104 also puts a search light on variation in the deaf community, and on different minorities within the minority. We will also look at the possibility to participate in society and power issues, definition power and positioning, differences between hearing and deaf people at a group level, audism, and "hearing privilege".
