Course content
The course emphasizes the transfer of theoretical knowledge to practical skills. Students will work with the understanding of different target groups and how this forms the basis for shaping coaches' practice. We therefore use a combination of theoretical lectures and practical group exercises where students will do coaching practice. A central part of the course is also that the students will develop their own coaching philosophy. This takes place to a large extent through group work. Great emphasis will be placed on how to communicate subject matter both in and outside of coaching pracitce.
The topics for the course are: coaching philosophy, skill development, motivation, training content, coach-athlete relationship, gender, power and ethics in the coaching role. Students will work with experience-based knowledge in relation to scientifically based knowledge and methodological consequences of this.
