The research vessel is named after the founder of one of Norway’s first research institutions, and is equipped with the latest technology for a variety of research and educational activities within biology, technology, geology, archeology, oceanography and fisheries research. This makes her a floating laboratory, classroom and operation station for remotely operated and autonomous underwater vehicles (ROV and AUVs).
