KreTek is a combined research and development project, and a collaboration between NTNU and Trondheim Municipality. Four pilot schools in the municipality are involved with two teachers each, who collaborate with researchers and science educators. Together, we develop innovative teaching projects for lower secondary school in science and mathematics, where programming is combined with students’ creativity and subject learning. We also develop strategies for incorporating creativity in assessment and structures for collaboration between schools and teachers. Research is on students’ learning and experiences with the resources, teachers’ use of the resources and how being involved in this kind of collaboration project contributes to teachers’ professional development and identity.

The project has received grants as an innovation project for public sector from The Research Council of Norway 2019–2022 (7 mill NOK).
