Team leader

Dag Atle Lysne is an Associate Professor in Biology and Natural Science Didactics at NTNU, and has a dr.scient. degree in Ecology from Tromsø University. He has several years of experience from teaching elementary school and kindergarten. From 2009 to 2013 he was head of NTNU Competence in School, which organizes NTNUs activities for public continuing education for teachers. He then acted as head of Program for Teacher Education (PLU) until that institute was reorganized in 2016

Veruska De Caro-Barek has the administrative and organisational responsibility of the research in the SALTO project. Her interests are within technology and learning, new convergent technologies, Connectivism (Georg Siemens), learning theories for the digital age, innovation in teaching, course design and MOOC (Massive Open Online Courses), e-learning platforms, digital competence and digitalization processes in higher education.

Team member

Ole Kristen Solbjørg is an important part of the core research team at SALTO, with his vast experience within ICT, Learning and teaching. Connecting knowledge, experience and knowhow between students, teachers, administrators and educational institutions on a local and national level.

Dr Shaun Nykvist (PhD) is a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (SFHEA) and a member of the DRIVE team at NTNU.  He has his research expertise in Higher Education teaching and learning, innovative pedagogical approaches, transforming teaching and learning spaces, digital technologies to support and enhance learning, indigenous education and STEM Education.

For 35 years Robin has worked in the cross field of audiovisual solutions, innovation/research and electronic art. In a nutshell he has created arenas and solutions for communication, collaboration and interaction within healthcare, military, education and electronic art in public spaces. The last 11 years he has been working at HiST/NTNU within several EU-projects as a technical supervisor for the design and construction of cross university learning spaces and related technologies for student active learning. At the moment, he is the manager for the NTNU Teaching Excellence project SALTO.
