Workshops - SAFECOMP 2016
Workshops
The following workshops will be co-located with the SAFECOMP 2016 conference.
DECSoS‘16
This workshop at SAFECOMP follows already its own tradition since 2006. In the past, it focussed on the conventional type of “embedded systems”, covering all dependability aspects (in the meaning of IFIP WG 10.4, defined by Avizienis, Laprie, Kopetz, Voges and others). To emphasize more the relationship to physics, mechatronics and the notion of interaction with a somehow unpredictable environment, the terminology changed to “cyber-physical systems”.
ASSURE 2016
The goals of the Workshop are:
- Explore techniques for creating/assessing assurance cases for software-intensive systems;
- Examine the role of assurance cases in the systems and software engineering lifecycle;
- Identify the dimensions of effective practice in the development and evaluation of assurance cases;
- Investigate the relationship between software reliability engineering (SRE) and assurance cases, and
- Identify critical research challenges and define a roadmap for future development.
SASSUR 2016
The SASSUR workshop is intended to explore new ideas to improve system assurance and certification of safety-critical systems. In particular, SASSUR will provide a forum for thematic presentations and in-depth discussions about the alignment of standards and system characteristics, specification of assurance cases, safety evidence management, and reuse of assurance information, in a way that makes assurance and certification more cost-effective, precise, and scalable.
CPSELabs 2016
This workshop is proposed by representatives of the H2020 Cyber-Physical Systems Engineering Labs project (CPSE Labs). This project is a European Union-funded initiative with a mission to accelerate the transitioning of science and technology for engineering trustworthy and dependable CPS into the marketplace. It supports European businesses to carry out innovation activities for realizing novel CPS-based products and services, and connects businesses with world-class expertise from some of Europe's top cyber-physical systems research institutes.
CYBERSUP‘16
Cost optimisation programmes championed by chief officers in companies are increasingly pushing organizations towards establishing supply chains to deliver their core missions, and to maintain their business advances. This is also the case for security and safety-critical organizations, such as critical infrastructure companies – which traditionally were very cautious about engaging in supply chains involving critical systems. This creates networks of entangled organizations where it becomes difficult to determine boundaries, establish security perimeters, and prevent cascading risks.
SAFADAPT‘16
SAFADAPT WS is canceled.
TIPS‘16
The purpose of the TIPS Workshop is to provide a forum for both practitioners and researchers to present contributions and share ideas, experiences and solutions to concretely connect or integrate performance design engineering and safety engineering activities. Industrial participants are invited to report on efforts applying timing and performance verification techniques in their context of safety or certification, share their insights, and to provide feedback to research priorities and roadmaps. This workshop will also encourage discussions about issues and opportunities to apply timing performance and safety co-engineering.
Technical Exhibition
A dedicated space will be available for a Technical Exhibition in the communication area where coffee breaks and lunches take place. Organisations wishing to present their products or projects are invited to request further information from the conference secretariat.
