Safety Research is a department of SINTEF Technology and Society. The department performs contract research within the safety, reliability, maintenance, and quality disciplines.

SINTEF Safety Research has extensive experience in supporting the petroleum sector, onshore industry, transport (air, maritime, and rail) and the public sector with solving problems within its work areas. Practical problem-solving skills combined with scientific competence and analytical capabilities have resulted in several innovations in safety and reliability techniques.
