The Nordic Symposium on Building Physics has been arranged every third year since 1987, making it the biggest and longest lasting international conference focusing on Building Physics. Although the symposia are always arranged in one of the five Nordic countries (Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway or Sweden), it has grown to attract participants from all over the world. Typically over half the participating researchers are from other than the Nordic countries.

At the last conference held in Lund, Sweden, in 2014 a total of about 300 abstracts were submitted to the 2014 symposium and 180 papers were presented at the symposium after a review process by an international scientific committee.
