UPV is one of the largest Spanish universities, with 37.800 students and 2.600 teaching and research staff. The Polytechnic City of Innovation at the UPV is composed by many research institutes. In WIBEC,UPV is represented by two research institutes: ITEAM and LabHuman.

On the one hand, the Institute of Telecommunications and Multimedia Applications, ITEAM, performs R&D activities in the field of the Information Society Technologies (IST) and has 9 research groups with more than 140 researchers, who cover all the scientific areas related with the Telecommunication Engineering field. The WIBEC Training Manger, Prof. Narcis Cardona, is the assistant director of the ITEAM and the director the ITEAM's Mobile Communications Group.

On the other hand, Computer Vision and Behavior Analysis Lab is focused on the analysis of human activity in its various facets and develops innovative and radical forms of human-computer interaction to ensure that technology is integrated naturally and seamlessly in our daily activities in applications that augment a people’s abilities in the areas of health, learning, collaboration and decision-making.
