Terms and conditions for cruises with RV Gunnerus

Reserving a cruise

In order to request a cruise with RV Gunnerus you must complete a cruise booking form providing information about your proposed cruise. By submitting the form, you verify that you are authorised to bind the legal entity stated as customer in the submitted form and that you can act as cruise coordinator on their behalf, you have read and accept the Terms and conditions of this order. Parts of the form are optional, but it is recommended that you complete it to the best of your ability in order to have your order accepted and to ensure that cruise goes as intended. This will also contribute to less need for clarifications before your cruise is confirmed.

Upon submission of the form, you submit a binding offer and you will receive a Confirmation of receipt. Upon confirmation of receipt, the customers cancellation options in the Terms and conditions will apply. Note: Cancellations by the customer later than three weeks before the cruise will be charged in full. This includes delays on customer's side that leads to not being able to carry out the cruise on the cruise date as intended.

NTNU has no responsibility and/or liability towards the customer before order confirmation is given.

NTNU reserves the right at any time to cancel an assignment that does not meet requirements given by law and/or internal guidelines made available to the customer, or if subsequent information indicates that previous information provided by the customer is no longer valid.

Terms and conditions

The vessel may use part of the booked time for necessary activities such as refueling, replenishment, loading/unloading, safety exercises or similar activities.

Bookings you submit will be charged according to the price list on the booking information page and booking summary in this form. The price listed is not final; other fees may be due subject to the nature of your booking. You will be charged according to the billing information you enter in each booking.

You are responsible and therefore will include all the necessary information in your booking, so that the crew is able to assess any risks and make necessary preparations to minimize them. This includes sufficient information about the customer's participants, planned operations to be carried out on the cruise and by whom (customer, third party or NTNU), including material to be used and which NTNU is not to procure.

You are responsible for providing sufficient and relevant information and data to NTNU in a reasonable amount of time before the planned cruise and that for complex assignments it is done well in advance of the deadline, two weeks before the cruise date. You or your company/department will still need to cover a cancellation fee if the lack of such information leads to delays or cancellation.

It is NTNU that decides whether there is sufficient information for the cruise booking to be considered completed. NTNU may not unreasonably withhold completion of the cruise booking.

Cancellations by the customer later than three weeks before the first day of the cruise will be charged in full.

You are responsible for providing correct information about the number of meals required on board at the latest 2 weeks before the cruise date. A 50% surcharge will be added to the cost of meals that were not booked in advance.

Cruises are booked for 12 hours and no discount is given if operations are completed earlier. Actions on your part that result in a cruise not being completed within the 12 hour window will result in the cost of overtime for the crew being added to your invoice.

All liability for the assignment description and planned execution lies with you unless otherwise explicitly agreed.

You will carry the cost of repair for any material damage done by you or the people accompanying you.

The crew is responsible for the vessel’s operation and safety. The crew reserves the right to stop operations as necessary to maintain the safety of crew and passengers, and to stay within working hours. The Gunnerus crew will make efforts to help you fulfil the aim of your cruise.

Circumstances NTNU is not in control of (force majeure) do not entail responsibility towards the customer. In all cases, NTNU cannot be held responsible for indirect losses.
