Working groups were established for each of the various types of space mapped and described in the autumn of 2017/spring of 2018. The work resulted in recommended concepts for the design of different types of space. This was sent to the organization for consultation in early June 2018, with a deadline 3 September. 

Composition of the groups

The working groups consisted of participants from various academic and administrative environments, partners, and participants with experience as elected representatives in various roles.

The working groups were key sources of information about activities, specialized groups, culture and use of space at NTNU. The participants contributed with their own skills and experience as experts on the organization (topics such as organizational structure, patterns of work, design, and technology) and with knowledge of the organization as it is today: How employees, students and others use the university’s premises and areas.

Analysed collected material

From December 2017 to February 2018, the working groups took part in analyses of material collected from mapping of activities and space use. The mapping process took place through methods such as questionnaires, counting users, walk-throughs, interviews, workshops and evaluation of pilots. The results were analysed in the context of results from exploratory activities such as reference visits, testing of prototypes, campus cafés, workshops and interviews.

This process took place from May 2017 to March 2018.
