The Offshore Energy Industry is undergoing rapid changes. It needs sustainable solutions not only in an environmental sense but also in terms of technology, economics, and competence—and not just 30–50 years in the future, but throughout the entire transition period.

Addressing these challenges requires a holistic approach that integrates multidisciplinary research, innovation, and competence development – the approach adopted by the NTNU BRU21 program. Digitalization and automation (including AI), combined with the offshore energy domain knowledge, play a central role in tackling these issues.

These are the topics of the 4^th BRU21 conference, an arena for academic and industrial experts to share their latest achievements and discuss future research challenges.

BRU21 Conference 2024

In 2024, the BRU21 Conference experienced record growth, bringing together 28 companies and organizations, 114 experts, representing startups, major industry players, government agencies, and research institutions. Its slogan is I⁴: Important, Innovative, Interesting, Inspiring.
