Study Programmes in Arts

At NTNU, we create interdisciplinary fields and provide space for experimentation. Our arts programmes incorporate the past, are relevant to the present, and pave the way for making an impact in the future.

As a student in the arts at NTNU, you will learn and benefit from the vast interdisciplinary opportunities offered by Norway’s largest university. A degree in the arts can lead to promising career opportunities. Performing artists from NTNU are recognized both nationally and internationally.

NTNU’s Programmes in Aesthetic, Art, and Music Studies

We offer both theoretical and practical education in visual arts, dance, drama and theater, music, and architecture. We also provide programs in art history and art theory, with performing and practical courses.

Architecture and Design

Professional education in architecture and design at university level. With the architectural education, we want to give you practical experience so that you can build up a confidential, direct and personal relationship with the subject.

Subject Didactics

NTNU has the largest academic community in Norway for teacher education and educational research. This provides a solid foundation for engagement, teaching, and development work in arts education for schools and other learning environments.
