Hanne Andersen is professor in Philosophy of Science and Head of Department of Science Education at the University of Copenhagen.

Her research falls within political epistemology, philosophy of science in practice, and integrated history and philosophy of science. Currently, her work is especially focused on interdisciplinarity and expertise, research integrity, and academic institutions and scholarly careers.

She serves as member of the Danish Committee on Research Misconduct and of the Panel of Independent Experts to facilitate replies to technical questions from the general public on a long-term solution for radioactive waste in Denmark. She is a member of the European Academy of Sciences and corresponding member of l'Academie Internationale de Philosophie des Sciences.
