I am Research Director Gene technology, environment and society in NORCE.
My background is in biotechnology and medical biology. My main research experience is within risk governance of GMOs and on ethical, social and legal aspects (ELSA) related to genetic engineering. During the past years, new research has been extended to include RRI of emerging biotechnologies, including genome-editing and synthetic biology.

Through my education and research experience, I have developed aspirations that make me feel very close to the vision and goals of the AFINO project. I believe that the project will strengthen the visibility of RRI and sustainability in funding agencies, among researchers, and the society. I hope that, ultimately, this will lead to an innovation process more effective in addressing the real needs of people and in realizing a sustainable future.
