A joint collaboration to develop a proof-of-concept database and information extraction tool for the relationship between city growth and locally available forestry resources. The project aims to join 3D Lidar scans, growth and resource base of Trøndelags forests with the population development and construction needs of environmentally friendly wooden buildings in the city of Trondheim. Merged together with a logistics model of local industry, the proposed tool will allow developing scenarios that can provide knowledgde based, actionable information for decision-making in both public domain and for industry investment.
