The HYPSO-1 satellite, the first research satellite from the
NTNU SmallSat Lab, is launching today
,
Thursday 13.01.22, at 10:25 EST (16:25 CET, Norwegian time) with SpaceX Falcon 9 Transporter-3 from Cape Canaveral Space Launch Complex 40 in Florida, USA.

Two of the people involved in the project, Sivert Bakken and Roger Birkeland, will also be interviewed about the HYPSO-1 mission on this stream.
The satellite’s mission is to observe algal bloom and ocean colors using a hyperspectral imager. Over 100 people has taken part in this multidisciplinary project: Students, professors and PhD candidates from four different faculties at NTNU. The project is a part of the Center of Excellence NTNU AMOS and is hosted by the Department of Electronic Systems.
