Biomechatronics
Research Area
Biomechatronics
We are a multi-disciplinary research group working in the intersection between technology and orthopedics. Our research vision is to help orthopedic surgeons make better decisions, by the use of cyber-physical and biomechatronic systems.
Our research areas of interest include the following:
- Robotic systems for medical applications
- Biomechanics characterization and testing:
- Macro-level: full joint robotic testing
- Micro-level: biomaterials testing
- Biomechatronic rehabilitation devices
- Patient-specific surgical simulation:
- Soft tissue simulation
- Haptic interfaces
- Software visualization
- Software system architectures
- Orthopedic digital twin systems
