Gearing up for an ambitious 2024 - DiverSea News
GEARING UP FOR AN AMBITIOUS 2024
As the calendar shifts to 2024 we have rested, reflected, and we’re ready to dive into the first full calendar year of DiverSea.
Highlights from 2023 included our kick-off meeting in Porto, the launch of our online space, and many productive meetings as we shaped our work within the work packages and forged collaborations among the seventeen partners in our consortium.
The year ahead holds many exciting things. Among many others, we look forward to:
- Field work to collect critical biodiversity data in our case study sites in the North-East Atlantic, Mediterranean, Aegean Sea and Black Sea.
- A seminar series bringing the science of DiverSea into the offices and homes of anyone interested in our work on supporting evidence-based decision-making with novel approaches to observe, map, and monitor coastal seas.
- Launch of new technologies to observe the diversity of our seas near and far.
- Initiation of citizen science programs to bring the public along in this exciting work.
- Development of platforms to deliver our results straight to the stakeholders who can apply it to decisions, policy, and management.
It’s going to be an exciting year, and we can’t wait for what’s ahead.
