Study structure - Master of Science in Physical Activity and Health
Programme structure
ILLUSTRATION: The first year of the master’s contains several courses while the whole second year is devoted to the master's project (PAH3901). The courses that all students on the programme take during the first year contain four programme specific courses: Training Circulation and Oxygen Consumption (PAH3002), Training Muscle and Force Production (PAH3003), Movement Evaluation in Sports and Clinical Science (PAH3004) and Evaluation of Physical Activity (PAH3005). In addition, all students take a course in Epidemiology and Statistics (MH3021 EpiStat1 or MH3024 EpiStat 2), Clinical intervention studies - Research methodology (KLH3206), and Experts in Teamwork (EiT).
Epidemiology and Statistics 1 (MH3021 EpiStat1) is taught in the autumn semester (Semester 1) and Epidemiology and Statistics 2 (MH3024 EpiStat 2) in the spring semester (Semester 2).
One elective course can be chosen. As elective course, the programme provides Movement Control and Change (PAH3010), but also a variety of other courses can be chosen provided by other programmes at the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences or other faculties at NTNU. For example, Molecular Cell Biology (BI3016) can be chosen. Movement Control and Change (PAH3010) will be taught during the spring and can therefore be combined with EpiStat 1. Molecular Cell Biology (BI3016) will be taught during the autumn and should therefore be combined with EpiStat 2.
