Academic prerequisites
BSc/BEng degree or equivalent in areas related to marine such as:
- Marine Technology
- Marine Biology
- Marine Biochemistry
- Aquaculture
- Environmental Engeneering
Marine Technology background: Students studying Marine technology qualify to enter the MSc in Marine Coastal Development.
Biology background: In order to qualify to enter the MSc in Marine Coastal Development, students studying biology at the NTNU have to take the following specialization BSc in Biology, Marine Biology and Aquaculture (course curriculum for the BSc in Biology https://www.ntnu.no/studier/studieplan-realfag)
Biomarine Innovation or Biotechnology background: Students studying the Bachelor programme Biomarine Innovation or Biotechnology at NTNU Ålesund are qualified to enter the MSc in Marine Coastal Development.

Specific admission requirement
Admission to this master degree programme is based on relevant bachelor degrees or a corresponding degree, and requires an average grade of C (according to ECTS Standards) based on courses in the main profile of this degree programme. Further information about this requirement is given in the Programme description for this master degree programme (MSMACODEV).
For applicants that start their studies in Autumn 2019, the calculation of the average grade C will be based on all courses included in the bachelor degree or a corresponding degree that are demanded for admission to this master degree programme.
