Writing and submitting your master's thesis
- Once your project description is approved, you complete and submit the form master's agreement. Here are the guidelines on how to fill in the form.
- If you will do research with human beings, you must apply for ethical clearance from Sikt (Norwegian Agency for Shared Services in Education and Research). Here, you will find the Notification Form (Sikt). You fill in an online form that must be hared with and approved by your supervisor before you submit it. You can read more about how to store and process personal data here.

Students who do not plan to collect any information that identifies particular individuals do not have to apply for ethical clearance from Sikt. You can consult your supervisor and discuss whether you need to register your project at Sikt.
Additional reading (optional)
After your project description is approved, you will receive an email with the name of your supervisor. Supervision is obligatory, and you are obliged to follow your supervisor's deadlines and instructions.
Supervision will be given during 2nd, 3rd and 4th semester. The total number of supervision hours is 60, including your supervisor's preparations etc. See the Master's handbook for more instructions.

The pages before chapter 1 and the reference list are not included in the defined number of pages. The first page of chapter 1 should correspond to page no 1. This means that the table of content and other texts/figures before chapter 1 have no page numbers, and you may, for instance, use Roman numerals for this.
