Further on evaluation
The purpose of the master's thesis is to show that the candidate is able to investigate a problem based on academic guidelines. This means that the thesis must follow scientific practice, including formal requirements for academic writing. The scope of the assignment must be between 70-90 pages and delivered individually. The assignment must be submitted digitally in INSPERA.
The form of assessment for the master's thesis is the assessment of the written document by an internal and an external examiner. A preliminary grade is set based on the written assessment. Following this, an oral examination is held. The purpose of the oral is to give the candidate the opportunity to clarify any ambiguities in the assignment / clarify understanding. It is the written document that forms the basis for the grade, but oral presentation can lead to the grade being adjusted. At the oral exam you will be asked if you want to know the grade before the oral exam start. You will receive your final grade after the oral adjusting exam.
If your MA dissertation receives an F or Fail, a new dissertation or a significantly revised dissertation can be submitted for a new and final evaluation. New and postponed exam: next semester.
