Course content

The candidate will work on tasks desided by the company. The work shall be arranged so as to provide the broadest possible insight into the various tasks of the company / agency , focusing on administrative tasks.Working hours shall be equivalent to normal full-time job in the company. Working hours shall be divided equally between working with the specific project, and typical work in the company. A contract will be signed with the employer to ensure a responsible supervisor at the company and a responsible supervisor at NTNU.

Learning outcome

The candidate will through the internship period get an increased insight and understanding of how tasks are performed in companies. At the same time, working on the project will provide experience in independent and systematic project work. The theme of the project is determined in collaboration with the contact person in the company where the candidate has his/her internship. The content of the project will be a combination of: the skills and knowledge the student has acquired so far in the study. The experience and knowledge the student has gained by working at the company with a variety of practical tasks. Present experience how to use different methods to solve research challenges and scientific methods and practices in the field. Independently update his/her knowledge through literature search and contact with experts. Describe best practice by linking theory to corporate practice exercises. Apply the methodological tools to address relevant theoretical, technical and practical issues. Use methods and other tools that are relevant to the project and contribute to analytical, structured, purposeful and innovative work. Identify, relate critically to,use and make referrals to relevant information, literature and technical material and present and discuss this in order to enlighten the problem to be addressed. Have developed the ability to communicate scientific information both orally and in writing. Have improved his/her knowledge about facilitating innovation and innovation processes. Have an awareness of his/her own knowledge and skills. Have respect for other disciplines and professionals. Contribute to interdisciplinary work and be able to adapt his/her own professional practice and team properties for the project.

Learning methods and activities

Guidance from the responsible supervisor of the employer and the designated supervisor at NTNU. Mandatory assignments: The report can be written in Norwegian or English. In addition, the candidate shall submit: Problem definition Project plan / research outline A poster in A3 format with a presentation of the project.

The ministry has clarified that it is a prerequisite that no salary is paid for the work that falls during the internship.

The report can be written in Norwegian or English. In addition, the candidate must submit: Problem definition Project plan / research sketch Poster in A3 with presentation of the project. In addition, there is a mandatory requirement for presentation of the completed assignment. The student must use 50 percent of the working hours to perform ordinary work tasks with the employer. The remaining time is used to write a report prepared in collaboration with the supervisors. The report / report is submitted digitally in INSPERA as a - 1 - pdf file.

Postponed exam (= New and postponed exam): The end of the next semester.
