Course content
Each student select two courses. The following courses (3.75 sp) are taught by the biotechnology department:
- Statistics and Research Planning (T. Rustad, E. Almaas).
- Biopolymer materials - functionality and applications(K.I. Draget, K.M. Vårum and G.Skjåk-Bræk).
- Synthetic biology (includes lab work) Lessons are not given in the academic year 2015/2016
- Bioinformatics (NN).
Courses (3.75 sp) offered by other departments can be chosen.
Learning outcome
After finishing this course, the students are expected to:
- Have a deeper knowledge in relevant technology, current problems and fields of applications within the chosen topics.
Learning methods and activities
The teaching of the courses may include lectures, study groups, self-tuition, written reports and oral presentation. The course will be given in english if international master students are taking the course.
Recommended previous knowledge
Previous knowledge in biochemistry, microbiology, biochemical engineering, and molecular genetics is required; e.g. corresponding to the courses TBT4107, TBT4110, TBT4140 and TBT4145.
