Course content
The students shall carry out a laboratory project work connected to research programs in biopolymer chemistry, marine biochemistry, molecular genetic, microbiology, biochemical engineering, systems biology, environmental biotechnology or food science. The project can also be carried out in cooperation with research institutions and industry.
Learning outcome
After finishing this course the students are expected to:
- Have insight into and expertise in central parts of the subject area of the project.
- Have experience and be trained in independent planning of experimental work and systematic finishing and interpretation of experimental data and information.
- Have experience and be trained in oral and written presentation of experimental data.
Learning methods and activities
The laboratory project work is carried out individually or in small groups of students (normally two) under the supervision of a professor.
Recommended previous knowledge
Previous knowledge in biochemistry, microbiology, biochemical engineering, and molecular genetics is required; e.g. corresponding to the courses TBT4107, TBT4110, TBT4140 and TBT4145.
