Course content
Nordkurs (Nordic summer course in language and literature) gives students in Denmark, Norway, Sweden, Finland, Iceland, Greenland, and the Faroe Islands the opportunity to study Nordic languages, literature, and culture in one of the other Nordic countries during the summer.

Learning outcome
Students who have completed the course
- have knowledge about Norwegian language structure and the Norwegian language community
- have knowledge about a central topic or period in Norwegian literature
Learning methods and activities
Attendance at all lectures and course activities is mandatory.
Obligatory assignments:
- Up to two written or oral assignments
- Satisfactory participation in mandatory course instruction
Compulsory assignments
- Up to two written or oral assignments
- Satisfactory participation in mandatory instruction
Further on evaluation
Assessment: Home exam (2 days) and written school exam (4 hours). The home exam counts 50% of the grade and the school exam counts 50%. Each of the exams are graded separately. Only the final grade will be listed on official diplomas and transcripts of records from NTNU. Both the home exam and the written school exam must receive the grade E or better in order for the student to receive a passing grade. Students who fail must take both exams again. If a student retakes a passed exam, they must retake all parts of the exam.
There will be different exams for NORD2261 and NORD3261, in accordance with the learning objectives for each course.

Admission to a programme of study is required:
Scandinavian Studies and Comparative Literature (BNORDLIT)
Required previous knowledge
Scandinavian studies students only. You have to send an application to Nordkurs to participate. Sufficient previous knowledge in one or several of the Nordic languages is required.
