Course content
The course includes various musical forms of improvisation. Instruction will be adapted according to the needs and desires of participants and related to their instruments and genre preference.

Knowledge:
The candidate:
- has knowledge about basic methodics related to chosen style of improvisation.
Skills:
The candidate
- Has skills in musical improvisation in a defined tradition
- Shows that she/he can improvise with musical intuition and creativity.
Learning methods and activities
Weekly individual, group and/or project based instruction.
Instruction is obligatory and demands minimum 80% attendance.
Compulsory assignments
- Satisfactory participation in compulsory instruction
- Studied repertoire minimum 60 minutes
Further on evaluation
The studied repertoire (60 minutes) includes the program for the examination concert and must be delivered medio April. Practical exam: 20 minutes effective playing.

Required previous knowledge
Requires passed MUSP4160 or corresponding course or admition to Master of Arts in Music Performance. A qualifying audition might be required.
